Lucas at 3 months old

Physical:
We thank God for his healthy growth thus far. At 3 month, he weighs 5.9kg, measuring 59 cm in height. Not a very chubby baby, but my arms are starting to tire beneath his weight!

It’s amazing to watch him grow day-by-day and week-by-week especially when we remember how tiny he was at birth.

Hair:
He is still shedding, like a cat. We see strands and strands of it on his napkin after his nap. He still has a bit of cradle cap left.

What’s really cute about his hair is that he has this tuft that sticks up. It makes him look like Tweety Bird from the side!

His ‘curtain’ is growing quite long too, going past his ears. It tickles his ears I think, because he rubs them quite frequently.

Skills and Talents:
Rolling rolling rolling
He is already rolling over like a pro and he is only 3 months 2 weeks. He first rolled over at 3 months, on 27 December 2007.  Even his first roll over was really fast, didn’t manage to get it on the video but we recorded the second try.

“I can talk whale!”
He has been squealing (yes, squealing) and screaming in delight since 2 months old. He somehow discovered his musical voice (if you can call squealing like a whale/ dolphin that) and has been loud ever since. But recently, he ‘mellowed’ slightly; probably he gained better control of his vocal box? Nope, he doesn’t do oohs and aahs  but he makes the ‘grrr’ sort of sound…which my dad insist Lucas is saying ‘girl’. According to his Yeh-yeh, he calls his Yi-yi, “girl” when he sees her….ah-huh…sure.

Discovering hands
Lucas can reach out and feel things. He could also grab hold of his napkin or handkerchief. When you carry him, he holds on to you like a little koala bear’s grip!

I’m watching you…
Yup, he loves to watch people now. He tracks his object of interest with his eyes. Now that he can see quite clearly, he gets distracted during feeding time. Being the little cheeky boy he is, he will smile up at you with the bottle still in his mouth. If you refused to look at him, he does not return the favor in kind. He will continue to look at you, patiently, for you to make eye contact. And we adult, the sucker that we are, succumbed to his magnetic gaze and look at him. Of course our weakness is well rewarded with his toothless grin!
