Pulai Springs 3 December – 5 December 2007

This posting is a bit late…. okay a lot late but you know what they say, better late than never. My dear wife wrote this article so I better post it up before I let her efforts go to waste.

Lucas first trip to overseas – Singapore! We went to Singapore on Friday night, 30 November 2007 for a 3-nights stay there before going to Pulai Springs in Johor on the following Monday.

Chilling in Singapore

We left home slightly after 930pm. Thanks to Klang traffic, we didn’t manage to reach home from work till close to 800pm. After dinner,  we got ready and changed Lucas into his pj before we set off for our journey. Shirley, Marcus’ younger sister, came with us as well. She was the co-pilot and was given the honor of driving ¾ of the way. Haha.

Shhhh…

Amazingly, Lucas slept all the way to Singapore, not waking up once for a feed. We got there close to 200am and he only woke up at about 300am. Lovely baby.

Said wife didn’t do much except feed and change baby all the time there, but she did get this cute rubber material stick-on sign. A little pricey at SGD 10.90 but surely it is the cutest-without being-cheesy-baby-on-board sign we’ve seen so far.

The royal treatment

On Monday morning, 3 December 2007, we went back up to Johor towards Pulai Springs. The resort is a nice place, quiet, spacious and well maintained. However, the service is a little slow if not responsive at times. The apartment was quite dirty as well. Perhaps the previous customers wore their slippers in the apartment and it wasn’t well cleaned after that.

But that was quickly taken care of. We had the maintenance people to mop the whole apartment again.  The resort provided a baby cot too. So Lucas slept in it, and we used our own bed sheet for him.

The Chinese restaurant there served pretty good food, can’t remember the name of the restaurant though. Probably it has something to do with having Aunty and Uncle Lian treating us to the dinner there ?. They are the owners of the resort who are the parents of said wife’s cousin’s wife

While we were there, a church group was also having their retreat. So unfortunately, they booked the cinema in the resort for their group discussion, leaving us poor souls movie-less for the trip!

And with two big cameras around, there were quite a few photography sessions. Snap here snap there, whether the object is looking or not, snap snap snap….

But it was a relaxing trip, mainly because there isn’t much to do. Ha! Lucas certainly maintain his act of being the goody boy…keeping up his routine of sleep-eat-poo, sleep-eat-poo… In Aunty Sow Yun’s words – “Excellent baby”.

Excellent Baby!

Not in church though, where he is the “Healthy Lungs baby”.

Hei, you forgot to add with Shirley’s professional driving skills, we manage to reach around 12am in Singapore which is around 3hrs plus. Not bad huh ;)

Between, FINALLY!!! Your website is updated.. it’s already May and the trip was last year 2007. So where is the Chinese New Year pictures? Do we have to wait for next year Chinese New Year?

*sigh* yea i agree with Shirley…I think we may need to wait till next CNY before we get to see the pics from this year! :p

I’m also doubtful about when we will be able to see the thousands of shots he took when they were in NZ!

Just as long as they keep the pics decent! :p
